Drama, drama, drama

Well, I found out recently that my Al driver's license expired on my birthday (about 3 weeks ago)when I opened a bank account. I really thought I had another year on it, but they let me open the account anyway with a promise, I'll get it taken care of. Trip ONE to the secretary of state (which is the DMV here in MI) - you will need to bring in your birth certificate, your social security card, and 2 utility bills - they give me a special pass so I don't have to wait in line again, which I was truly grateful for and still am. Trip TWO - I could not find my social security card, but I did find my tax forms which I can use instead, I had my first cable bill, and a welcome packet from AT & T address to Lucy Smith at my new address and I had a letter from my retirement fund showing the change of address, so I thought that would work. NO. I have to have 2 utility bills. I got my second bill this afternoon and grab it up and all the other stuff and headed over for Trip THREE - girl looks everything over and notices my birth certificate is in my maiden name (what?) and my license showed my name is Smith. She wanted to see the marriage certificate - which of course I did not have. Fortunately, I knew exactly where that was and put it in the envelope with the other stuff and threw in Jim's death certificate just in case. Tomorrow, I'm going to try for the FOURTH time to get my license. The thing is, the license costs $25.00, I can't get money from the bank without a valid license and I can't use a credit/debit card to pay. LOL So, I also got my new checks for my new bank account in the mail today so hopefully I can pay by check or guess what... it'll be Trip FIVE, and if that happens, I swear I will cry.

Working hard or hardly working? lol

Lots to do to settle in at 'Buckingham Palace', so called 'cause that's the name of the street.
I have unpacked so much and still have so much more - what a mess!

Eileen helped me put up this little tree; it's about 4 feet tall!

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas for sure.
